I respect you a great deal Dr Gorski, so I won't defend myself being called a liar, with my usual flair. I disagree. She is not a nurse. She WAS a nurse. She can be a nurse again, but at this moment, if she practiced as a nurse, she would be a criminal.

Defend yourself all you like. She IS a nurse, just unlicensed. Words do matter, and you’re on the wrong side of this.

For instance, she could run a clinic or be in nursing administration without a license, as long as she doesn’t do direct patient care. That’s still nursing.

You could have mentioned that prior to your attempt at embarrassing me into submission. I'm not unreasonable. I see you have a point there, but my back is already against a wall.

You gave only your opinion in the first criticism. I was unaware that I was obligated to accept that as gospel.

I shouldn’t have used the word “lie,” and for that I’m sorry. (That particular trope REALLY infuriates me.)

However you were nonetheless very much incorrect, but in retrospect obviously unaware of the history of that very technique being used to attack pro-science advocates.

I think many of us don’t know that history.

I’ve seen it used on Dr Amy Tuteur.

I’m not surprised. Any time a pro-science advocate lets his/her professional license lapse, for whatever reason, cranks use that to claim they’re “not a doctor.”

They like to emphasize that I never passed the bar exam (which I never took, and which is not necessary for a legal academic).

I know physicians who went into administration and let their board certifications and medical licenses lapse. They’re still physicians.
