I really hate this idiotic analogy. I wonder if people would keep repeating this ridiculous @NRA talking point if they knew the numbers.
The UK had 285 knife fatalities in 2018 compared to the US which had 39,773 firearm fatalities. The comparison is stupid. Really stupid.https://twitter.com/tywarren269/status/1213211492591394816 …

I'm a bit late to this party, but yeah. Mark definitely thrashed his... I would say brain, but I'm convinced he's a medical curiosity and lacks one, much beyond beyond the basic involuntary systems needed for life.

He doesn't even know the #3 myth correctly, as malpractice assumes preventability. But his belief in one myth, of course, predicts his tendency to believe many more, including that of "gang warfare" in our cities. The FBI stats will show "gangs" are ~ 5% or less of homicide.

The correction of the source of the #3 myth, of course, is in subsequent literature, and we don't purge papers that dont replicate so it lives on in the minds of cranks and the incurious forever. Much like "we only use 10% of our brains", medicine is #3 will live on forever.
