This is why all religious exemptions for children should be outlawed. Practitioners of Christian Science will let children die instead of seek medical help and they aren't the only ones. In many states this is still legal because "freedom of religion" is more important.

A child does not choose a religious belief and a parents religion should not dictate or take priority over the health and safety of a child. Yet, here we are with many people getting off after allowing their children to die slow torturous deaths unnecessarily! Pisses me off.
