Yes, this is awful, and should be considered malpractice. I just wrote about this "integrative" center at MSK a month agohttps://www.forbes.com/sites/stevensalzberg/2019/11/25/prestigious-ny-cancer-center-will-spend-37m-to-study-bogus-cancer-treatment/ …

Are these oncology centers so desperate for patients and or money that they have peddle nonsense? I am all for feel good measures, psycho social support. Have a interfaith center with clergy. Just don’t call it medicine or treatments.

Sometimes just holding a person’s hand and being there is what the patient needs. But that is not a treatment.

I get it that there are some positive effects. People will do CAM anyway. It’s a positive to be aware of what Cam a patient using and for it to be used at a center that can focus on medical treatments and hopefully avoid the extremes of Cam. 1/

Theoretically you might get some patients who would not go to an oncology center otherwise 2/
