If the opposition isn't antivax, why were antivax leader @delbigtree and a number of prominent antivax activists from NY and elsewhere around the country there on Thursday. Why will they be there today? No, the opposition is antivax af.https://twitter.com/BillSpadea/status/1206552705449316352 …

So it seems "Parental rights" the new (well, not new, but now focused) "1st defense" activists use? Perhaps since their many vax-related arguments fall flat w/ sci & "anti-vax" has stigma, they're going w/ this appeal to virtue, even if it easily fails on ethical/legal grounds.

It’s definitely not new, but it’s a message that antivaxxers found to be effective appealing to those of a conservative/libertarian bent during the debate over SB 277 in 2015.

Sure, not new, but "fnd effective" means it goes partisan, appeals to GOP politicians at local/state/fed level, who signal back in varying ways: AZ's Townsend (vax=communist); TX's Stickland (vax=sorcery) vs. NJ Cardinale, R. Paul. Maybe it's me but seems ramped up more of late.

It's certainly ramped up since 2015, which is when antivaxxers first made "parental rights" central to their political message.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2017/02/22/in-the-age-of-donald-trump-vaccine-policy-is-becoming-politicized-with-potentially-deadly-consequences/ …
