Or you can just do intermittent fasting by pushing breakfast back and moving dinner forward a few hrs. Worth at least a couple pounds a month in my experience, and best part is no calorie counting - eat the same amount! https://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/fulltext/S1550-4131(19)30611-4 …

Intermittent fasting can aid weight loss by spontaneously reducing calorie intake without calorie-counting. You will definitely NOT lose weight eating the same amount, and the participants in the study you linked lost weight by eating less.pic.twitter.com/SVExCz3IJD

Yup. The two years before I got serious about calorie counting I had taken up bicycling and burned a lot of calories. I didn’t lose much weight. I only lost serious weight after I got serious—almost fanatical—about counting calories.

*siiiigh* I know I'll have to do this if I want to be serious about it. It's simple thermodynamic physics.
-
Eh. Simple thermodynamic physics says that to lose weight one has to *reduce* calories. Many people find ways to reduce calories without*counting* them.

Any recommends on apps? The one I was making good progress with (loseit) finally wore me down in the end. Needlessly tedious logging, overly time consuming.
-
If it has been a while since you used LoseIt, it has improved a bit. Not great but it’s what I use.

I might have to break down and try it. And maybe that exercise thing too.

Broad strokes keys to fitness and being trim/healthy: lower your calories, increase your protein (if you don’t know how much protein you eat a day, you’re not having enough), exercise. That’s it. People want it to be complicated but easy. It’s actually simple but hard.
-
Oh and both men and women should lift more weights. Build muscle and you’ll burn more calories a day even when not exercising. Anyone who is worried about getting too muscular: don’t. If you don’t take steroids, I promise it is near impossible to get more jacked than you want.
