Longest I ever waited for a flu shot was when I asked my oncologist if I could get it from him since I was there and I needed one for work. It almost stumped the Infusion Center nurses as well (documenting it in their EHR, not injecting it).

We encourage our patients to get the flu vaccine if they haven’t had it, but most of them get their vaccines from their primary care doctors. The nurses are find with vaccines; they’re the same nurses who vaccinate all the medical staff every year…

There's money to be made in health care and medicine. I suppose inhalers, and pacemakers, and glasses, are not really needed either. There's also more money to be made in treating the victim of a disease, than preventing it via inoculation.
