This has been going on for quite some time. The go-to first move of antivaxxers is to harass vaccine advocates at their job. Indeed, antivaxxers today remind me of the radical antiabortion movement. What I fear is that they'll eventually escalate. After all, antiabortionists have in the past killed physicians who perform abortions.

I'm not so much worried for me. Most of what I've experienced has been just harassment online and at work. I'm more worried about pediatricians who advocate for vaccines and legislators who support stronger school vaccine mandates, like

Also, antivaxxers don't bother me at work as much as they used to. I think they realize that it doesn't affect me any more, although I will admit to quite a bit of agita during the 2010 harassment.

Basically, my department chair, cancer center director, dean, etc., all know antivaxxers are cranks and that I'm doing nothing wrong. They all support me.

Indeed, my cancer center director tends to joke to me when he sees me that he hasn't gotten any complaints about me lately. My response has evolved to saying that I guess I'm slipping and will try harder.
