Libella Gene Therapeutics, LLC made the news last week for its “pay-to-play” trial of its telomerase-based anti-aging gene therapy. The price of enrollment? $1 million. Worse, the trial is being conducted in Colombia. Would you pay that much?https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/would-you-pay-1-million-to-enroll-in-a-phase-1-clinical-trial/ …

I think this would make the organized crime, the drug lords jealous. If this actually worked to any clinical significant effect, how much would they charge for it?

Calling all rich ID10Ts, Highlanders (there can be only 1), 'Q's from Star Trek, Draculas...etc Want to live forever? Only $1m to do a Phase1 trial? Eh? WTF! My BS detector is off the scale! It stinks. I'd love to have them in front of my ethics committee!

If I were a billionaire, I’d toss a million into this just because I’m interested in telomerase inhibition and curious to see how they’re approaching it. BUT I’d pay with the clear knowledge that, so far, nobody has been able to achieve much with telomerase inhibitors.

And I’d be far more interested in helping to finance new animal studies than taking their stuff myself, for my own reasons as well as all those outlined in your blog post.
