I have a post operative consult with my surgeon on Friday. The total cost for that, the left hemicolectomy she performed and the subsequent five day hospital stay is £0, because I live in a civilised country.

You say "socialist" like it's a bad thing. I went from initial GP consultation via diagnostic assessments to surgery in less than 8 weeks. The NHS is under strain because the Conservative government deliberately underfunded it so they have an excuse to privatise it.

Yep. Conservatives do the same thing here with social programs, starving them of money and undermining them using regulation. The Trump administration has been trying to destroy the ACA with regulations undermining its effectiveness since Trump took the oath of office.
