Not quite. Antivaxxers compare their "struggle" to the civil rights movement, which was a fight for equal rights based on race. None of us can control what race we are born into. Antivaxxers, OTOH, are making a CHOICE, and they don't want to face consequences for their choice. 1/https://twitter.com/joshbucky/status/1197388544299261952 …

Is it that hard to comprehend that freedom for a citizen includes choosing what is or is not injected into their body? By definition it absolutely is a civil rights fight. pic.twitter.com/rLeQYqJWTF

It's more than that. Adults already have the right to refuse vaccines—or any medical intervention, for that matter—as long as they understand the consequences. Children, however, are autonomous beings with rights of their own, among them the right not to be medically neglected.2/

Antivaxers speak as though they view their children as their property, to do with as they please. It's always about THEIR choice, THEIR bodies ("my body, my choice" said about their children and vaccines), THEIR rights, never about the rights of their children. 3/

The bottom line is that children have a right to proper medical treatment, including recommended preventative care like vaccines. Barring a legitimate medical contraindication to vaccination, not vaccinating them IS medical neglect. 4/4

They have a right. And parents, as caretakers, have the right to refuse on their behalf. Argument over. Be well.

Here is the bottom line Dr. There will never be forced vaccination ever. Not in this country. So stop deceiving and tell people what you really want. You want forced vaccination! I am tired of this beating around the bush and these games. State what you really want.

I am not going to allow anyone to force something into my body or my family. So if that’s what you want move to Germany.

Why don't you move to Argentina @gorskon? Do you get a twinkle in your eye at the very thought of living in a country with federally imposed adult mandates? It'd be like a medical Utopia for you!

Based on your school of ‘medicine’... which is failing many. I promise you the quality of health many of us believe in is far from neglect & in fact requires a much greater level of diligence & commitment...

Preventative care is proper nutrition, fresh air, limiting screen time... maybe not the easy way out...
