I do my best not to block ppl on Twitter but I'm now blocking @doctortro. I know it'll cause some to call me cowardly or whatever but it's none of that. It's also not some emotional tantrum but rather the result of cool-headed contemplation. Here's a #WhyIBlock thread (1/13)

Yeah, just a brief perusal of his website and Twitter TL leads me to conclude he’s a keto brigade quack. I never regret blocking quacks.

Yeah, but as Pauli admitted, he's also successfully treating his patients. Clinical success isn't something to sniff at. It seems vanishingly rare under other doctrines, especially for a GP. It's a heady perspective for the first few years.

I’m not sure the two entities are mutually exclusive, and I would guess his delivery and perhaps even his approach is a bit different with patients than with the twitterverse. Just a hunch.

Very clever David. This is a great performative example of what falty decision-making based on cherry-picking the evidence looks like. A snap decision based off feelings rather than sound reason and evidence. Beautifully demonstrates all the things you argue against.

Obviously I imagined that I've been eating lowcarb/keto for 19 years, and went from 248 lbs to my present day 154 lbs, feel great, and my doctor is happy with my blood tests. Or is she a quack also?
