And the anti-vax folks don’t want to be labeled that - but they choose not to believe science and so it is ok to label them. That is what they are. Again, they are lost in misinformation - I won’t change their mind, because facts don’t matter to them.

I label the leaders - and talk to the patients. When you have someone who says, “Well all these kids get autism after vaccines..” like

Exactly. Andrew Wakefield is antivax. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is antivax. Barbara Loe Fisher is antivax. Del Bigtree is antivax. Jenny McCarthy is antivax. It is entirely appropriate to “label” them that way because it’s an accurate description.

His trust is not in science, or medicine as a discipline of science - and yes there are even doctors out there who are anti-vax which shows we don’t teach critical thinking in medical school.

Indeed. I frequently point out that the vast majority of doctors are not scientists. They apply science to treat patients, but often don’t have a good understanding of science as a method of explaining the world.
