Ugh! @JayGordonMDFAAP. You were dismissing measles as a harmless childhood disease. Do you remember that? You were citing that 50 year old Brady Bunch episode as “evidence” that people didn’t think measles was a big deal. NOW, you admit that measles is harmful based.

It’s not new information that measles hurt the immune system and results in a higher mortality for three years (at least) after the infection resolves. I’ve written about it at least twice, starting years ago. This new study is important because it provides insight re: mechanism.

Here’s what I don’t get: Gordon belongs to FAAP; he’s a Fellow. WHY don’t such orgs push back on members? Or how about state licensure bodies? He makes them all look bad. Dr Oz got a stern letter and nothing else. It’s ridiculous.
