Particularly odd is that I've had multiple email exchanges with @KristinMeekhof before. @DeepakChopra always seems to communicate with me through her. It's as if he thinks I'm so far below him that he won't sully himself to email or communicate with me directly himself.

In fact, I rather suspect that this is far more about appearing fair to the world than anything else. If
@DeepakChopra were really serious about having any of us "apostles of scientism" participate in his symposium, he would've reached out privately and invited us a long time agoShow this thread -
Just having his assistant tag us all in a Tweet to invite us less than a month before the symposium looks to me to be about appearance, not substance, particularly his chiming in afterwards.

After all, in my case at least, as a surgeon I need a full month's (at least) notice because, outside of emergencies, my cancer center requires at least that much notice for me to cancel a clinic.

In any event, it's strange to be in the same company as
@RichardDawkins,@Evolutionistrue,@SamHarrisOrg,@michaelshermer, and@jimmy_wales on@DeepakChopra's list.Show this thread -
And, predictably,
@DeepakChopra's response is condescending, probably because I called him out for the obvious bad faith behind the invitation and the disrespectful way that it was delivered in public.https://twitter.com/DeepakChopra/status/1184974221773926400?s=20 …Show this thread

Ridicule is impolite and mean-spirited. Personally I reserve it for the persistently ridiculous. In that vein, "Fundamental reality co creates potential timelessness", from https://twitter.com/WisdomOfChopra?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor … and http://www.wisdomofchopra.com/
