Inadvertently, @DeepakChopra is partially correct. I'm not an "apostle" of science. I am a scientist and a physician. I do not worship science, as "apostle" implies. I use the scientific method as a tool. I apply known science to patient care. That's what physician-scientists do.

It is rather interesting, though, how predictable those whose oxen are gored by skeptics are in trying to compare us to "priests" or "apostles," thus portraying us as akin to religious fanatics "worshiping" science (more accurately, science they don't like).

In any event, I was at work most of the day. I had some Tweeting time in the morning but have been away from Twitter for several hours. I show up again, and what do I find,
@DeepakChopra trash talking me. The joy of Twitter!Show this thread -
And this isn't the first time
@DeepakChopra has been using the term "apostles of scientism," either. Why is he trying to denigrate skeptics by portraying science and skepticism as a religion?https://twitter.com/deepakchopra/status/1184861542149263360?s=21 …Show this thread

I think "scientism" was coined by Habermas. The idea is lost on many people.

To be fair, Deepak Chopra has his uses. I saw a new book in the store last week. Seemed interesting. Turned to back page. Found endorsement by Chopra. Put book back and moved on.
