Cost? Every other developed nation on the planet has some version of universal health care & pays HALF what we in the US pay per person (or as % GDP) for the same or better medical outcomes. They pay lower admin fees (less paperwork) & can negotiate much better drug prices.

Take a look to Sweden. ResidentInsurance. It certanly means more taxes.But it´s also a key for markets developement, since employees in Health sektor also pay taxes and consume other goods.

If you are concerned about taxes on average citizens, try taxing the rich and corporations. Oh I forgot, it is the U. S. we are talking about.

The issue with trying to go directly to Medicare for all is that it will be a gigantic undertaking because you can’t just give a system designed for 30 million people 300 million more people to be responsible. You will have to have the assets of the insurance companies.
