I just learned that @koleszar_matt voted for #HB4710, the misbegotten bill that would license acupuncturists in Michigan. @MattforMichigan, dude? WTF? I supported your because I thought you were pro-science!https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/hb-4710-licensing-and-expanding-the-scope-of-practice-of-acupuncturists-in-michigan/ …

I am pro-science. I’ll try to fit my explanation into a tweet. I wasn’t wild about the bill. But, I learned that veterans’ insurance covers acupuncture, so long as the acupuncturist is licensed.

Right now, a vet would either have to travel outside the state or find a way to have a licensed acupuncturist travel to Michigan. It would not be an avenue I’d take, but if it gives them some peace, who are we to get in the way?

It's quackery. It should not be paid for by
@VeteransHealth. It should not be licensed in Michigan. You screwed up, big time.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

There is no evidence that acupuncture does anything above placebo and nonspecific effects.

May I suggest that you peruse the acupuncture articles on
@ScienceBasedMed. My colleagues and I have discussed in great depth why acupuncture is pseudoscience. It was basically retconned by Mao Zedong.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/retconning-traditional-chinese-medicine/ …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
Don't get me wrong. You're way better than Jeff Noble was. But, damn. I did write you about this. You voted the wrong way anyway.
