So @SenPolehanki, I really, really, really hope you don't make the same mistake as Rep. Koleszar did. I supported you too. Let's talk.

I am pro-science. I’ll try to fit my explanation into a tweet. I wasn’t wild about the bill. But, I learned that veterans’ insurance covers acupuncture, so long as the acupuncturist is licensed.

Right now, a vet would either have to travel outside the state or find a way to have a licensed acupuncturist travel to Michigan. It would not be an avenue I’d take, but if it gives them some peace, who are we to get in the way?

I’m very much pro-science. That said, when clients self-harm, particularly with picking their skin or cutting, going to acupuncture scratches that itch for them and is much safer. I’m glad there are licensed acupuncturists.
-
That's interesting. Is there research on this?

Acupuncture fans believe it's science-based. They have a ton of reviews to support them written by people with no less qualifications than yours. The public is either agnostic or believers. The agnostic ones are in favour of licensing or just dont care.
