Unless it's special circumstances (e.g. trying to get a 4-year old to sleep) it's rude IMO for aisle/middle passengers to ask the window passenger what to do with the shade. What utter and complete (and selfish) nonsense. Sometimes the sunlight is blinding and prevents sleep. Other times (like with me), the passenger might get anxious during landing if he can't see out the window.
