I'm fairly agnostic on plan specifics. My goal is universal health insurance. I could support a single payer plan. I could support building on the ACA. I just want universal health insurance.https://twitter.com/WFKARS/status/1174291622206562305 …

Ditto for me. I think the evidence shows from international plans - the tiny minority of which are nationalized - shows the benefit comes from universality more than how you accomplish that. If we just sustained effort in the ACA it would have been great. We just have to commit.

Still doesn't deal with equity. Under the ACA poor people get shitty insurance (underinsurance). When rich and poor are in the same system, there is more equity.

I thought Dr Goldfarb had decided for us equity is no longer important? Even when they are in the system the rich find a way to give themselves outs, like private insurance in the NHS. I think first (perfect vs good) we get everyone covered.

IKR? I thought conservatives thought that we as doctors shouldn't be concerned with social justice and equity, only scientific medicine, as argued by Dr. Goldfarb. In any case, I echo your thoughts. The rich will always find a way to get more, even in Canada.
