It’s a stupid argument. Doesn’t explain airborne diseases like measles. And is not argued by anyone who has been on a commercial airplane in the last 5 years!

So they think modern countries or regions that don't have adequate access to vaccines and suffer as a result are ... unsanitary? Dirty? There's a layer of bigotry in this argument that is pretty damned offensive and xenophobic when you scratch the surface.

It's a really silly argument. Anyone advancing it will also need to explain why diseases disappeared in order of the introduction of each vaccine, and in some cases only the strains targeted by those vaccines.

I saw someone a few days ago quoting a newspaper article from 1905 where a doctor claimed cancer was virtually unheard of before vaccines.

Ok, I'm no epidemiologist, but IF it was sanitation that eradicated these diseases, why haven't measles and chicken pox and pneumococcal infections etc. been eradicated? We have proper sanitation... I can't even with their "logic". Determined ignorance is stupidity, IMO.

In all those charts showing the decline of a disease after the introduction of the vaccine, not one claims responsibility for what happened before it was introduced. This is an elaborate straw man argument.https://legacy.theskepticsguide.org/resources/logical-fallacies …
