Basically, if a dark money PAC working for the hospital industry that's blanketing the airwaves with deceptive ads likes your message, you should rethink; that is, unless you're on the side of the insurance companies and don't mind serving as their pawns. https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2019/08/secretive-front-group-targets-vulnerable-senators-with-2-3-million-ad-blitz-over-surprise-medical-bills-fight/ …

It is amazing how the views can be clouded by greed. Glad I am on a paycheck

Yeah, me too, although there are an entirely different set of problems associated with that. In my case, for instance, our faculty practice plan was mismanaged for so long that it's now in Chapter 11 reorganization. Fortunately, it looks as though it will make it, but wow.

@gorskon why do you think VCs even exist in medicine? It’s because insurance/govt has crushed docs so hard. It’s simple economics. If we had fought back better against these regulations, more docs would be independent today and VCs would not exist -
In this instance, I am not ok with the goals of dark money flooding airways w deceptive ads I am not ok with surprise billing. But opposing a regulation that will give insurance comps more power is standing on the right side of our profession and pt care!
