By "the right way," he means doing it so that it doesn't affect his profits. 🤦‍♂️https://twitter.com/drdanchoi/status/1166398063298170880 …

Stop surprise billing!! But we need Congress to do it the RIGHT way. Don’t let insurance companies use this opportunity to increase their profits. Basically @drdanchoi is parroting a line by a dark money PAC ( @drpatientunity ) that's been flooding our airwaves with deceptive ads attacking efforts to end surprise billing with fear mongering about closed hospitals.

I’m against any end goal of pure profit off of pt care @gorskon But concerns by docs about insurance comps getting more power than they already have over pt care is NOT fear mongering. I’m truly fearful of entity that burns out docs the most: insurance comps having absolute pwr

calling out heavy handed tactics of insurers that hurt our patients is not self interested

I hate insurance companies - and think that surprise billing is horrific and gouging patients. It is bad to be on the side of surprise billing - to have patients have to pay extra because you were unwilling to take a reasonable rate

It's definitely a VERY bad look to be on the side of a dark money PAC like @drpatientunity, which has been flooding the airwaves here in Detroit with deceptive commercials urging me to call @SenGaryPeters to vote against a bill stopping surprise billing.

I saw that video because @drpatientunity retweeted it. This PAC's ads are Houston, deceptive, and insult my intelligence.https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2019/8/22/1880778/-Actual-doctor-speaks-out-against-so-called-Doctor-Patient-Unity …

Basically, if a dark money PAC working for the hospital industry that's blanketing the airwaves with deceptive ads likes your message, you should rethink; that is, unless you're on the side of the insurance companies and don't mind serving as their pawns. https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2019/08/secretive-front-group-targets-vulnerable-senators-with-2-3-million-ad-blitz-over-surprise-medical-bills-fight/ …
