What a horribly irresponsible article in @latimes! @Davidlaz is not a drug addict. He has a medical condition that requires medical treatment and does poorly when it's not treated. We don't call diabetics "insulin addicts," even though they can't stop their insulin.

I suffered chemical depression for over 2 decades of my life. Before 10yo I'd contemplated suicide, & attempted it at 14 by jumping off a cliff; I thought a solution did not exist. I'm now on a daily
regimen for the rest of my life & so grateful to finally have attained it! -
It feels almost miraculous, doesn't it? Unless you've been into that dark pit of existential gloom and hopelessness, you can't truly understand it. And people who don't understand presume to speak out against that which we desperately need to function and feel normal.

I'll probably be on antidepressants for the rest of my life. And aside from the expenses (no insurance coverage) I feel no shame or guilt. I know what it's like not to be able to feel anything, or get out of bed for days. No one could ever make me feel bad about my meds.

Withdrawal. Not a life long need for psych drugs. The deliberate lies to keep people popping this garbage is disgusting.
