And as I've seen elsewhere, he spent millions lobbying for formaldehyde to be removed from the list of carcinogens. And also he was an oil magnate, so there's an excellent chance he's caused way more cancer than any of his money could ever cure.

In teaching about the Gilded Age, I have students who think the Robber Barons were okay b/c they gave to charities. These students don't even consider that these men could have, done good their entire lives & not just occasionally. I teach college & have students of all ages.

Hell, the Nazis carried out cancer research. They even documented the link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer. This in no wise means they were good people. Now, David Koch was no Nazi. He was, if anything, a misguided Randian Libertarian. But he was no benefactor.
