I kinda was too. I spent too much of my life adhering to what I was taught. Mind my business, don't cause a scene, keep that thought to yourself BUT say whatever you want, damn the consequences or who it hurts, because freedom. Then I learned it was okay to ask questions.

I learned it was okay to live to make myself happy and not people trying to live vicariously through me. I learned it was totally a decent thing to do to respect other people. I learned that when my brain says "holy shit, that's a bad thing that's happening" it's okay to react.

Me too, but it probably started around mid-twenties. I’m still fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. Realized that conservatives aren’t really fiscally conservative and the Dems come closest to making sound fiscally decisions and they are socially liberal.
