You base that conclusion on what? Not putting names in the coverage is a recent phenomenon, and has been nowhere near universal. It's also based on some sound research into these shootings. Not really sure what's gained by giving shooters notoriety.

This is dumb. I support some gun control measures, and I don't blame media for mass shootings. I don't blame the media for suicides, either. But there's strong evidence that changing the way we cover suicides has prevented more of them from happening.
