When I see some of citations listed, it is concerning eg case studies from quack clinic #Chemothermia

What if it helps though? We don't have any strong evidence that it doesn't help. Quacks do lots of things wrong but things aren't wrong because quacks do them.

Oh c’mom. We are talking about cancer patients here, #EvidenceMatters That is really quack and anti vax talk...’prove it doesn’t work’. I am surprised at that fm you. Chemothermia has exploited desperate & vulnerable cancer patients @gorskon

I didn't say prove it doesn't work. But maybe the hatred of keto diets goes a bit far sometimes. I didn't get the impression the paper was claiming is to be a cure for cancer.

Oh stop... what’s this Keto hatred crap? As cancer patients we are bombarded. Is it too much to ask for a modicum of responsibility that promotion of any intervention nutritional or otherwise to patients should be safe and evidenced based #EvidenceMatters @drg1985

Being evidence-based works both ways though. We don't have much good evidence that a keto diet works any better or worse or the same as whatever diet people usually eat. The best you can say is there is any evidence. Rather than it doesn't work and should never be mentioned.

Lack of tolerability of treatment and worse overall outcomes. There is a wealth of info @wcrfint of course, more research is always a good thing and patients should always be individually assessed and advised by an oncology dietitian 2/n @ruthkilcawley @aoiferyan30

As with many treatments though? Individuals should have the choice about what treatment they have. I think it should be tested but that is unlikely to be if people have already decided it isn't worth testing and get angry at the very mention of it.

For the most part, yes. The evidence for ketogenic diets as a treatment for cancer is quite unimpressive in my estimation.
