Bullshit. Tweeting should be governed by same rules as face-to-face interaction. If rules wouldn’t allow tou to treat a colleague in department the way you treat an academic on Twitter, someone should talk to you.https://twitter.com/aetiology/status/1151582857795645442 …

Moreover, those doing the harassing of academics defending science on Twitter are, by and large, nearly all non-academics. Academic rules on face-to-face interactions almost never apply to their interactions.

That being said, Tara did bust Clay's (and your) chops for being on a panel at NECSS with no women, even though neither of you are organizers of the event and the event was gender diverse... In many situations, private inquiry is preferable over public shaming.

She wasn’t being harassed. She cried wolf! She just didn’t like being called out on a subject matter that she knew nothing about after pretending that she did. And said topic had nothing to do with anti-vax or anti-anything. She lied, got caught, and was told about it. Nicely.

It sure didn't look that way to me. You basically made a not-so-subtle threat to report

When it comes to anti-vaxxers, they are fighting for their right to consent (or not) to an invasive medical procedure. It's about Civil Rights, not Academics. They will use any weapon, even science or harassment. Medicine brought it on themselves.
