What, your nonsense or Null’s nonsense. They are the same.

Calling the results of research "utterly ridiculous" without having a better research corpus to offer is nonsense. Or as i said, nonsense on stilts. It is kvetching of the most puerile kind

So to accept estimates as high as 440K? That's 61% of all inpatient deaths. 250K is 28%.

He has “voice of the customer” in his bio header. Customer. Tells you everything.

Oh dear. Seems you are unfamiliar with basic quality & safety terminology The "Voice of the Customer" (VoC), which you mock, is a foundational concept within the industry, and essential to understanding quality improvement. VoC doesn't refer to "customer" in the usual sense /2

VoC refers to a "process customer", as in "the stakeholder for which this work process is an input" (see SIPOC) In many cases, the process customer is another clinician, but in the value chain (another foundational term), the ultimate process customer is the patient /3

This concept is critical bc without it, there is a natural tendency to look at the world through the lenses of the process sponsor or the process owner, rather than the process customer. In other words, through the eyes of management or the clinician, instead of the patient /4

Taking the VoC view, we ensure that quality is higher, that errors that can harm the patient are seen, prioritized, and are addressed in ways that best suit the patient, not management. VoC is a core and critical success factor in quality & safety Mocking it is foolish ~!~

I have to say, it's an ambiguous phrase that really should be changed to be clearer. I assumed you meant the patient too.

Sure, it's ambiguous, especially to those outside the Quality & Safety field. Just like "Lean" is an unfortunate term. Nevertheless, here we are, it is the current terminology. When I present to clinicians or management, I typically use "Voice of the Patient" to avoid that
