They are awful. Situation is awful. But she was equating then to nazi concentration camps with “never again”... Bigger issue- why support distracting from the issue? Focus on the horror- diluting the issue w this “are they or aren’t they” stuff isn’t helpful to getting it fixed

Aren't the detainees in the border camps free to leave and return over the border? If that is true, can these camps still be concentration camps? Shouldn't that term be limited to camps where the prisoners can't leave?

It's an immigration detention center. If you hear the words concentration or nazi in a discussion of present day immigration issues, it always comes from a political crank with an agenda to push.

And wouldn’t almost all prisons, jails, or detention facilities meet “any reasonable definition “, as well? And AOC was clearly trying to paint these border centers with the broad brush of Nazism.

The damn term has been in use (in functionality, if not by name) since the Boer War, so anyone seeing the word "Nazi" when it wasn't even used either has low reading comprehension or is purposefully engaging in, well, purposeful bullshit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internment
