What if Antifa is not mostly far left political ideologues who believe violence is justified? What if it is mostly young violent people looking for an excuse (anti-Fascism) & a place (Portland) to commit violence? Does anyone know who these people are? Any demographics? Profiles?

What if Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer are mostly far right wing neo-fascists whose MO is to go to antifascist rallies, try to pick a fight, and then, when successful, gang up on individual protesters to beat the crap out of them and claim "self-defense"?https://twitter.com/DavidNeiwert/status/1014621528711811072 …

0:28David Neiwert @DavidNeiwertFor anyone wondering why observers felt Saturday's violence in Portland had a disturbingly vicious quality to it, this little scene will explain why. This was fairly typical of what we were seeing from Proud Boys: Whole gangs attacking single vulnerable counterprotesters. pic.twitter.com/F3jP6yBILM5 replies 15 retweets 69 likes -

This is what Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer do, as
@DavidNeiwert, who's reported on fascists for decades, shows. This is who they are. Yet, for some reason, I don't see you condemning PBs with anywhere near the ferocity and outrage that you condemn antifa.https://thebaffler.com/latest/freedom-to-bash-heads-niewert …5 replies 9 retweets 60 likes -
Have you EVER condemned antifa violence or is this just a standard you hold the "other" side to?

Violence against fascism is not morally equivalent to fascist violence, but by all means, keep denigrating the sacrifice of all the Americans that died to wipe out Nazism the first time around to allow its unencumbered rise in our country today.

And are you calling Andy a fascist then? Just define him as a fascist so you can beat him up?

Well he is, based on his writings, a right winger and probably a bigot. His WSJ piece in particular speaks to antimuslim/anti-immigrant fear and the bullshit of Sharia law etc. But I don’t think that’s really what he is. He’s a grifter. https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-visit-to-islamic-england-1535581583 …

I'd call him fascist-adjacent, given his relationship with the Proud Boys, who are fascist.

Okay, well I still don't think it's okay to beat up fascist adjacent people. That's a slippery slope. Besides, I think all it has done is create sympathy for him.
