I've thought this often. Medical schools should require
#epidemiology and#statistics as core classes. But on the other side, being a scientist doesn't prepare you much at all to be a physician. -
The difference was particularly striking to me when I entered medical school after taking hard core science, including graduate level courses, as an undergraduate and then when I entered my PhD program after 2 years of residency.

Undergrads, post grads, PhD's in chem, bio, etc. doesn't constitute as "science?" I'm just a lib arts major. Plz explain.

There will always be people who are better at applied science and others who are good researchers . Same amongst doctors, there can be brilliant clinicians, and others who will know everything but are clueless what to do to a patient.. surgery especially is very skill based .
