I don't know why but I'm watching "Soylent Green." One interesting thing about the movie, which was made in 1973. It features human-caused global warming due to the greenhouse effect. as part of the reason, in addition to massive overpopulation, for the horrible conditions shown.

I was about to make a similar comment, but had to look up the name. The blame really is more with Malthus for that era of Science Fiction, Heinlein name drops in several books.
