The difference is intent. Death camps (also called extermination camps) were designed to kill. Concentration camps were not. Theres also the factor that as Nazi territory contracted they all began to become effectively death camps, as the Nazis were determined no 'undesirables' would be liberated. It is an easy mistake to look at what they became and say that is the only concentration camp.

David- I am 100% in agreement with you- but would like to add that: IF WE AS A COUNTY ARE HAVING A DEFINITIONAL DEBATE ON WHETHER WE HAVE PUT PEOPLE IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS OR DEATH CAMPS, WE ARE ALREADY IN A VERY BAD PLACE.
