Overdiagnosed breast cancer is real cancer. It's either so indolent that it will never progress enough in the patient's lifetime to cause a problem; it might never progress; or it might even regress. But it is indistinguishable from breast cancer that kills. That's the problem.

What we need to decrease overdiagnosis is to identify prognostic markers, gene signatures, etc., that allow us to identify overdiagnosed cancer. That's the reason I prefer the term "overdiagnosed cancer" to "pseudodisease," the latter of which implies that it isn't real disease.
