I run on a path on top of a levee and people leave these things up there blocking the path. I really just want to chuck one off.

If you throw enough scooters into the Detroit River, eventually you could just walk across.

On behalf of all trauma docs, please do. They are a public health menace. No one wears helmets and they go fast. People tend to tumble forward off them onto their heads. I have sent 3 young people to TBI rehab with DAI in the last year from these and one was PVS.

People absolutely need to wear helmets on these and follow the rules. But I don’t hate them. I know people including my husband who have cut down on their car usage thanks to these scooters. They are great for trips that are longer than you’d want to walk but car is overkill.
