Homeopaths don't learn nutrition in medical school, and what they learn of nutrition in homeopathy or naturopathy schools is laced with quackery and pseudoscience.

I agree that homeopaths don’t attend medical school. But homeopathic and naturopathic doctors, who are licensed in many states, do have nutrition classes as part of their training. Only about 25% of US med schools offer a nutrition class. So who is better trained in nutrition?

MDs shouldn’t have to spend an hour w 1 pt discussing nutrition, but pts need expert education as well (Not from homeopaths)

After 25 years of going to MDs, I was 340 lbs on 15 meds. After 1 year seeing a licensed ND, I was 180 lbs and off all meds. I wouldn't see a ND for trauma, but isn't there room for both professions, when properly licensed and qualified in their practice?

Dieticians, nurses, social workers, etc here are held to the same professional standards as physicians. I’m sure there’s some good ones, but many naturopaths, etc are not held to the same standards. Quality, well rounded health care is what I think you want? Yes?

Licensed NDs in the US, especially those with DEA numbers, are held to the same professional standards as physicians. I think what we are disagreeing about are definitions. Are you and @gorskon on record as stating that all licensed NDs are "quacks"?

Licensed NDs are not held to the same standards as MDs, though.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2017/04/11/death-by-intravenous-turmeric-why-licensed-naturopaths-are-no-safer-than-any-other-naturopath/ …

Basically, state licensure of naturopathy doesn't protect patients from quackery because naturopathy is, at its core, based on quackery, and even the seemingly normal interventions are often infused with pseudoscience.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2017/04/25/the-death-of-jade-erick-why-state-licensure-doesnt-protect-patients-from-naturopathic-quackery/ …

Just re-read that, picked up some things I'd missed/forgotten. All a "treatment" needs to be to be considered a valid naturopathic treatment is for is to be used by two or more Naturopaths? Seriously? You just have to convince 1 person to do the thing you totally made up??? SMDH

US naturopathy is a sitting target for class actions of various kinds.
