I think there is a huge reason. Scientists know that vaccines are awesome. There is little else to research there, beyond producing new ones. Simply put, scientists know there is nothing to debate here.

Because average people don't care about scientists but when they allow actors and other celebs into their homes (via whatever media they consume), they feel a personal connection to them and are more likely to take their shitty and irrational advice.
