Might have a vernacular problem here. Aborting the pregnancy, as in surgically removing the baby from the womb and doing your best to keep it alive, may well be necessary. An abortion, as in 'do everything you can to kill the baby', is what we question the necessity of.

But if we aren't running into that problem, then as a doctor, please give us an example of a situation where a procedure whose goal is the destruction of the infant (as opposed to an undesired side effect) is medically necessary.
