This is, of course, revisionist history and a lie. Rachel Carson was not responsible for millions of deaths because of her criticism of the overuse of DDT. 1/https://twitter.com/PaxHart/status/1133081624806084609 …

First, malaria deaths didn't cause a massive rise in malaria deaths. 2/https://timpanogos.wordpress.com/2018/10/23/ban-of-ddt-did-cause-a-rise-in-malaria-or-malaria-deaths/ …

Also, contrary to this narrative, Carson was not the first to express concern about DDT. For example, the US Fish and Wildlife Service expressed alarm as early as the 1940s. 3/https://timpanogos.wordpress.com/2007/08/12/original-documents-long-history-of-ddt-trouble-from-us-fish-and-wildlife-service/ …

No, Rachel Carson did not kill millions of Africans, no matter how much Michael Crichton tried to claim her activism harmed them. 4/https://slate.com/technology/2012/09/silent-spring-turns-50-biographer-william-souder-clears-up-myths-about-rachel-carson.html …

I've noted that the Rachel Carson revisionist history liars always come out of the woodwork whenever they sense a chance to bring back the "miracle powder," for instance, during the recent Zika virus scare. 5/https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/zika-virus-microcephaly-and-calls-to-bring-back-ddt/ …

The bottom line is that the claim that banning DDT (which is still used in many areas of the world) led to the deaths of millions from malaria is one of the most pernicious lies out there. 6/6
