I mean, I find the image of Trump above and the many like it that I've seen over the last three years to be profoundly creepy and disturbing. Yet his fans love them, share them on social media, and even use them as avatars and background images for their accounts. Why?
Is there something about the image of a old man in shadow and muted colors scowling or starting at us disapprovingly that somehow taps into our lizard brain and makes us want to follow and obey him? That seems to be true for a big chunk of the population.
but what would they think about an image of Obama? Or if that image was of Booker, or Warren or some disadvantaged group?
Excellent point. The right took images of Obama, applied similar Photoshop effects to them, and used them to scare the conservative base. What was the difference, I wonder?
