I've been seeing images like this on social media lately. They make me wonder why #MAGA types find such an image compelling when it looks like an image of Big Brother out of "Nineteen Eighty-Four." Authoritarian, much?pic.twitter.com/ocTMVcx64j

I thought I'd just add more such images as I come across them. Here's another one. Trump doesn't look quite so menacing, but still fairly Big Brotherish.pic.twitter.com/zy3nqblSPK
And here's another collection.https://twitter.com/VoteTrumpPics/status/1052002151269113857 …
Oy. This one takes the cake! I assume the soldiers behind him are supposed to be Spartans. Too bad Trump is one of the least Spartan-like men I've ever seen. In any event, the authoritarianism and militarism are jarring.pic.twitter.com/3PVuYR7n2C
but what would they think about an image of Obama? Or if that image was of Booker, or Warren or some disadvantaged group?
Excellent point. The right took images of Obama, applied similar Photoshop effects to them, and used them to scare the conservative base. What was the difference, I wonder?
Yup. It's the same thing that makes a large number of people say they'd like 'a strong leader' (implication: 'who tells us what to do'.)...
When I first saw this I assumed it was an image put out by a group opposing Trump to scare us into not voting for the Reps.
