One more time: It's not about you. Really, it isn't. It's about the patient. You can try to convince yourself that it isn't about you when you prioritize your religion over the good of the patient, but you're just deluding yourself.

Or work in a specialty where proving medical care doesn’t conflict with your beliefs. Patients always come first.

The Dr is just the tool to help you get better. You don’t ask a tool about their personal views you just want them to be a tool and work!!!!

What if a doctor chooses not to provide abortions, and patients choose doctors who don't do abortions, and patients who want legal abortions find doctors who are willing to do that?

There's already a law that states that - been on the books for some time. This new law allows doctors to descriminate for ANY medical procedure. Hell, there's a section in there that allows doctors to deny providing hearing exams if it goes against their beliefs.

Absolutely agree. One of our most lovely ED docs is a very observant Jew. No matter what lifestyle/reason for pt needing care, he is warm, compassionate, committed 2 excellent care. It's all about patient's wishes for him. He's also super caring to staff after a hard case.
