Actually, I do make fun of traditional Chinese medicine. Other than a handful of herbal medicines, it's based on prescientific religious beliefs and uses physiologically ridiculous diagnostic modalities like tongue and pulse diagnosis.

Plus, it has no real unified form older than around 1960 when Mao got really keen on it. It most certainly is not the unchanged wisdom of the ancients.

Actually, Mao got keen on it at least 10 years earlier than that. His creation, promotion, and export of what we now know as "traditional Chinese medicine" was, unfortunately, a great success and an early example of "integrative medicine."https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/retconning-traditional-chinese-medicine/ …
