The Brady Bunch also did a two-part Very Special Episode in which during a family vacation in Hawaii Peter and Bobby find a cursed Tiki idol that brings bad luck to whoever finds it. Bad things start happening to the family, and they have to get the idol back to a burial ground.https://twitter.com/HislopMD/status/1131560942829953026 …

Anti-vaxxers: “The Brady Bunch showed measles is no big deal!!” 🤦‍♂️Riiight...if the Brady Bunch made a new season, with 1 episode dedicated to each child that died of measles *last year alone*, & played 1 episode every week... ...that season would last? 👉 Over 2000 years 👈

So I suppose that, to antivaxers, that two-part Brady Bunch story about the Tiki idol must ALSO mean that cursed Tiki statues exist and really do bring bad luck to those who find them and that to break the curse you have to get the idol back to its resting place! 2/🤦‍♂️

Lesson of the day: Don't cite nearly 50 year old sitcom episodes to support your claims about medicine or science. 3/ 🤔

I found the series DVD set for "EMERGENCY!" & decided to revisit my childhood. Guess that means I'm a paramedic now.

When "EMERGENCY!" was still on Netflix, I was working my way through the show. It was one of my favorites when I was in junior high, and it actually holds up pretty well. Unfortunately @netflix pulled it before I got through season 4, and it hasn't streamed anywhere else since.

Ah, to go back to the good ol' days of my youth, when we could cure any ailment with two spatulas and an old toolbox while crouching on the front lawn next to our banana-seat bikes.
