As I like to say, if advocates claim an intervention works for a wide variety of unrelated diseases and symptoms, chances are high that it doesn't really work for much of anything. At the very minimum, health claims for cannabis as medicine are massively overblown. 1/https://twitter.com/drg1985/status/1130769708008054784 …

I have no problems with cannabis use itself, but as I've ranted before, health claims massively overblown https://health.spectator.co.uk/the-rise-of-the-cannabis-cult-dont-believe-the-hype-about-medical-marijuana/ …

It's completely obvious (and always has been) that laws legalizing medical marijuana are nothing more that a back door step towards legalization for recreational use. 2/

While I have no problem legalizing marijuana for recreational use, I do have a problem with medical marijuana advocates claiming it's some sort of cure-all or, as they've been doing lately, touting it as a major answer to the opioid crisis. It's not. 3/3

I would argue exercise is an intervention that has claims to work for a wide variety of unrelated diseases and it really does work for all of them.

I am a user for my pain management. It also helps ease some side effects from my medication. But I am not under the impression it cures anything, and beyond pain management, it doesn't do much else. It shouldn't be pushed as medicinal/cure for anything, such claims are ridiculous

Oh and I still need my pain meds, just not as often or as strong now. But using it alone, I'm still in agony.
