How irresponsible of this network, especially during a coast to coast outbreak, as they mention. The anchors, reporter, and network are now all culpable for the spread of dangerous antivax propaganda.

Did you check Reaume's whole Twitter feed after embedding a tweet or two of hers? This looks to be as much personal as a station decision on promoting the false balance angle.

Yep. If you read the article, you'd know that I cited it near the end.

Infuriating reporting. It legitimizes quack vaccine theories, treating them as reasonable scientific positions. This kind of false balance causes real harm, > vaccination hesitancy (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23193194 ).
@GenevieveReaume. Listen to concerns, but don't legitimize bunk. -

I hate when media pretend that they have balance confronting evidence-based science and antivaxx zealots.

America thrives on reasonableness. It doesn’t matter if you are right or wrong, public opinion tends to follow reasonableness. If someone intensely believes 2+2=4 and I don’t immediately agree then the info is suspect because they are not being “reasonable”.
