I caught the measles and mumps, I stayed indoors, got bored. I would let my kids catch it if it turned up in my area. That's the best way to get vaccinated is to catch it.

Well, that's what happened to me, both mumps and measles did not give me any ill effects, just the boredom of staying in the bedroom for days until I was clear. I didn't get sick or feverish or vomitty but I did have rashes and spots. I was like what's everyone going crazy about?

Public health in the 60s and 70s was avoid it if you can but if you get it then lock them in the bedroom until they get better. I told my parents I was feeling fine even tho I had rashes and spots they insisted I stayed in my room just in case.

PSA: Unvaccinated children are NOT the cause of the measles outbreaks that have been happening (and will continue to happen) every year since the fucken vaccine came out.
